The deadline for all positions except Regional Ambassador is 31 January 2025. We are open to expressions of interest in becoming a Regional Ambassador throughout the year.
Co-Chair
This role involves the following tasks and responsibilities (to be undertaken with the other Co-Chair):
• Lead development of the identity and direction of HistoryLab+ with the support of the wider committee and the Institute of Historical Research
• Develop and enact the annual action plan in consultation with the Secretary and Treasurer
• Manage the work of all officers, of event organisers, and of other working groups
• Devise committee meeting and AGM agendas in collaboration with the Secretary and Treasurer
• Chair each committee meeting (tri-annual, online) and the AGM (online)
• Submit a report to each committee meeting and the AGM
• Respond to any enquiries made by email
Communications Officer (website focus)
This role involves the following tasks and responsibilities:
• Manage HistoryLab+ website
• Develop permanent ‘Resources’ webpage in co-ordination with event organisers
• Liaise with event organisers, Communications Officers (social media focus), and Co-Chairs and Secretary (who together produce and circulate the monthly Newsletter) on publicity content and schedule
• Liaise with the Institute of Historical Research to update content of relevant IHR webpages (one, two)
• Attend each committee meeting (tri-annual, online) and the AGM (online)
• Submit a report to each meeting with Communications Officers (social media focus)
Diversity Officer
This role involves the following tasks and responsibilities:
• Help event organisers with publicity materials, to ensure that all relevant access information is included
• Liaise with event organisers, the Institute of Historical Research, and/or other hosting institutions to ensure that participants’ access needs are met
• Work with all Communications Officers and the Institute of Historical Research to adjust the information available on or wording of registration pages in order to make registrants more open to sharing access information
• Responsibility for how / long relevant information is stored
• Attend each committee meeting (tri-annual, online) and the AGM (online)
• Submit a report to each meeting
Regional Ambassador
We are open to establishing Regional Ambassadors for any UK region, as defined by you. This role involves the following tasks and responsibilities:
• Work with Membership Officer to increase membership of HistoryLab+ (e.g. by establishing lines of communication with Humanities departments / university careers services in your region)
• Support the organisation of any events taking place in person in your region
• Attend each committee meeting (tri-annual, online) and the AGM (online)
• Submit a report to each meeting

There is also scope for any member of the committee to…
- Lead or assist with the organisation of national events (including the History Lab+ annual conference), hosted in person at the Institute of Historical Research, online, or using a hybrid format
- Contribute to History Lab+’s annual action plan
- Speak at History Lab+ events
N.B. The cost of travel to in-person events and accommodation will be covered.
