Dr Sarah Wride
Treasurer

Dr Sarah Wride is a historian of modern British and Irish culture. She is particularly interested in

• the relationship between national reform debates 1776-1948 and changing conceptions of what culture is and does

• how, why, and with what effects homicide cases 1827-1953 have been culturally represented.

Sarah is currently adapting her doctoral thesis for academic and trade book publication and producing a podcast series about the history and ethics of the true crime genre. She runs a consultancy and research support business, is an Associate Editor of The Year’s Work in English Studies, and has held research fellowships at the University of Oxford and UCLA and teaching roles at the University of York and Bishop Grosseteste University.
