Dr Lauren Theweneti
Regional Ambassador (Yorkshire)

Lauren Theweneti is a final year PhD student in the department of History at the University of Hull. As a White Rose Consortium student on the Cities, Environments and Liveability pathway, her interdisciplinary research within the fields of History and Historical Geography explores the transformative effects of the First World War on the urban environment and society. Lauren’s main interests focus on the role of women in wartime and the effects that the First World War had on transforming perceptions of women in society, addressing whether war had a transformative impact on women or whether change was short term followed by resistance to their changing roles.
Lauren has longstanding connections which have been established as a museums volunteer, a committee member for the University of Hull’s PG History committee and as a founding member of the Ridings of Yorkshire Society which have enriched her research and experiences. She hopes to utilise these connections to support other ECR’s across Yorkshire in her role as Regional Ambassador.
